What is your mission?
The New York City – Southern New York Chapter of the National MS Society is a collective of passionate individuals who want do something about multiple sclerosis now – to create a world free of MS.

What makes your organization so unique in the non-profit space?
We help each person affected by MS by funding critical research, driving change through advocacy, facilitating professional education and providing hundreds of comprehensive programs and services.

  • We fund more research than any other organization in the world.
  • Each person impacted by MS, including their family and loved ones, can connect 24/7 to the most comprehensive and reliable information and resources available, online, in-person or by phone.

We are hosting several exciting and inspiring events that champion our mission and raise funds for the organization:

Walk MS NYC – Sunday April 19

  • Walk MS is our rallying point to raise awareness and connect with our community.

Dystel Memorial Golf Classic – June 8

  • This annual summer event combines a day of golf with a buffet dinner, silent auction and raffle.

Race Against MS – June 18

  • More than 600 real estate, construction and property management executives gather for an exciting day at Belmont Park Race Track.

Bike MS NYC – Oct. 4

  • The largest one-day charity cycling event in New York City with a 30-mile traffic-free ride circling Manhattan, plus a 55 and 100-mile route traveling traffic-free through the Holland Tunnel.

Volunteer

  • Join our Board of Trustees

  • Business Advisory Council members provide industry-related advice to members seeking employment or career guidance. All professions and industries are welcome.
  • Government Relations Committee members determine and advocate on current or pending issues that are important to people living with MS, their friends and family.
  • The Hispanic Outreach Committee works to support and cultivate programs currently offered to Spanish speaking members of the chapter, and assist with the creation of new programming to Spanish speaking communities in the five boroughs and Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Sullivan counties.
