Rossie E. Turman III – CUP Member Spotlight

Rossie Turman's Head Shot

What is your occupation and how did you come to work in this field?
I'm an attorney, specializing in bank finance.

What is the biggest challenge of your work?
People are the biggest challenge.  People come in all types.  You have to adapt to maximize the relationship you have with a particular person, whether they are colleagues, clients, partners, co-counsel, or associates.  I try not to make the mistake of assuming others will compromise for or conform to me.

What is your proudest achievement?
Staying grounded and physically healthy while continuing to climb.

What leaders, thinkers or doers do you admire most?
Jesus Christ, Harriet Tubman, General George Patton, Fannie Lou Hamer, Cesar Chavez,  Nelson Mandela, Eboni Marshall Turman.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Hopefully healthy, wealthy and wise with a blessed family.

What would be your advice to young people who want their careers and lives to have an impact?
Focus on doing things and taking risks that have the potential for impact.  Too often people's career actions have a disconnect from what they say they want their careers to be.
