Duane L. Hughes is a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley. Duane manages a team of lawyers focused on securities and brokerdealerlaw and regulation, international wealth management and collateral enforceability in client jurisdictions around the world. His prior employers include Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and Shearman & Sterling. Duane holds a JD, joint MBA/MA degrees from The Wharton School and The Lauder Institute of the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA degree summa cum laude from Howard University. Duane speaks Portuguese and Spanish. A graduate of the Executive Leadership Program of The Council of Urban Professionals, Duane serves on the Board of Advisors of Legal Outreach, where he was recently designated an Elder of the Village. Duane is a sought after speaker on diversity and inclusion. In 2010, Duane was awarded the prestigious Diversity Champion Award by the New York City Bar Association. In 2012, Morgan Stanley won the MCCA Employer of Choice award for the Northeast Region due in part to Duaneā€™s efforts.
