Tobi Jaiyesimi is a Nigerian immigrant living in New York City.

With over a decade of experience in public service, Tobi works at Empire State Development managing the Atlantic Yards and the Queens West Development Projects.

As Project Director, Tobi oversees all aspects of development, construction monitoring, business negotiations, and compliance with the obligations in the General Project Plan. Tobi also provides strategic support to the 14-member Board of Directors for the Atlantic Yards Community Development Corporation and the inter-agency Board of Directors for the Queens West Development Corporation.

Prior to joining Empire State Development, Tobi worked as Deputy-Chief of Staff to then-Assemblymember Hakeem Jeffries and Chief of Staff to former-Assemblymember Walter T. Mosley.

A proud Hunter College graduate, Tobi has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Urban Affairs. Her interests include critical analysis of formal and informal urban environments; understanding the value of race, class, and gender in framing political identity; and creating change through collective wellness.
